Weddings
Today more than a quarter of all marriages in England between a man and a woman take place in the traditional setting of a Church of England church. You're welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church.
If you are getting married for the first time (or are widowed) and live in the parish you can be married in your parish church of Walberton or Binsted. You can also be legally married here if you or your fiance or any of your parents have lived in Walberton Fontwell or Binsted for more than six months during your lifetime. Even if you have never lived in Walberton it may still be possible to get married in one of our churches so why not give us a call!
We are also happy to conduct a service of prayer after a civil wedding ceremony, or thanksgiving and renewal of vows for those who are married. There is no need to demonstrate a qualifying connection to the parish for these services.
All services are conducted in accordance with the Church of England’s understanding of marriage. We enjoy working with couples to shape the ceremony to their requirements and are happy to involve others in the ceremony. Just talk to us and share your ideas so we can work with you in making the service all that you would want it to be.
